Hopefully one of our previous hardwood floor sanding and refinishing projects here will be able to provide you with some inspiration. This Red Oak hardwood floors was in a bad shape before full restoration. The beauty of real wood floors is your ability to change the color of them without ripping them up. Here we are sanding away the old finish. Revealing a new clean slate to paint a new color on, modern, natural look! White Oak hardwood floors & hardwood stairs - Restoration by Advantage Hardwood
Here is a recent project we recently completed with white oak wood in a urban 7+ year old home. The customer wanted to restore the floors and not replace them to keep the modern theme in the house consistent.
As you can see in the before and after pics we took these beat up, worn, dark grey floors and restored/refinished them to appear like brand new white oak wood floors with custom lighter stain color.

Engineered Vintage Oak; oiled wood floors- Restoration by Advantage Hardwood
Creating a unique look like this floor may seem like an easy task. I assure it’s not. There’s great deal of technique and craftsmanship that goes into creating a floor like this. From the way the scraper is pulled against and with the grain of the wood, to the type of finish that is applied. When all of these things are combined you get a beautiful, great oiled floor that will be enjoyed for years to come!
Heart Pine Wood Floors- Restoration by Advantage Hardwood
This wide plank, heart pine floor had become worn, particularly along the edges with slight cupping caused by a leak. The floor once dry was sanded smooth, repaired and restored/reoiled with custom color/oil, to give a hint of warmth, yet retain a lighter, fresher appearance.
